Resilient Responder Performance

OUR SERVICES

Service Areas

  1. Mental Health Education
    Information designed for emergency responders.
Most emergency responders receive some level of training regarding how to deal with mental health issues, within in the general public, as a part of their job responsibilities. Unfortunately, these same public servants receive little to no information about how to recognize or seek help when mental health problems are challenging them or their peers. Mental health education, meant for emergency responders, encourages the use of mental health resources and reduces the stigmatization surrounding mental health.
  2. Mental Resiliency Training
Proactive training to reduce the impact of careers spent around trauma.
Each day, emergency responders are asked to serve the public and are exposed to numerous potentially traumatizing scenarios. By proactively providing resiliency training, emergency responders are better equipped to face these scenarios with minimal effects on their personal health and well-being. In providing resiliency skills and training, service personnel are equipped to serve happy and healthy careers, despite the daily stressors and traumatic events they are exposed to.
  3. Mental Performance Consulting
Perform the best when it matters the most.
Effectively using mental skills is crucial to the performance of emergency responders, especially in high-risk situations. Attentional switching, arousal management, communication, and self-talk are just a few examples of the mental skills required. Developing professionals can learn to effectively use these skills earlier in their careers, leading to fewer potentially costly mistakes along the way. Veteran responders, already proficient in these skills, can fine-tune them to provide additional benefits to performance.

Service Formats

Classroom Sessions

Similar to our workshops, classroom sessions create didactic learning experiences, usually alongside other extended training schedules.  Each session, a personalized curriculum, designed collaboratively with our client, pushes participants to successfully utilize the skills and information introduced.

Classroom sessions allow for a more-comprehensive curriculum with greater training opportunities.  Topics are more deeply explored and can be revisited periodically throughout training.  Classroom sessions are typically 30 to 60 minutes and consist of 2-20 sessions, depending on the needs of our client.

Workshops

Workshop sessions are experiential and educational in nature, combining traditional learning with activities requiring participants to engage with the material.  This hands-on approach, along with processing and career-specific applications, allows participants the opportunity to practice the material being introduced to them.

Each workshop's curriculum is designed around the needs of our client and is collaboratively fine-tuned to provide impactful experiences for all participants.  Workshops typically run from 3-5 hours, but other arrangements can be made to best suit the client's needs.

Applied Training

Applying mental skills training to already-challenging job demands can be difficult.  Before job-specific training or scenarios, clients are given the foundational knowledge needed to implement mental skills into their performance.  During and after training, clients work with our consultants to refine their execution of learned mental skills.

This method of training is especially effective for developing a well-functioning set of resiliency and mental skills.  In addition, clients are better equipped to face the challenges of their job-specific training and are more likely to succeed.  Due to the unique nature of this form of training, scheduling needs are different for each organization.

Individual Consultation

For individuals who want to improve their performance abilities or build resiliency skills, one-on-one consultation addresses the specific needs of each client.  Sessions are individualized and include skills building, education, and personal development.  In this setting, clients are able to explore their personal experiences privately and come to a better understanding of how mental performance training can best be applied throughout their lives.

Individual consultation sessions are typically one hour in length and usually occur weekly for 5-10 sessions.

Note- We are not licensed to diagnose or treat any clinical mental health problems. Clients experiencing clinical mental health problems will be referred to a mental health practitioner for treatment.  This does not prevent clients from utilizing mental performance consultation.
