Resilient Responder Performance

ABOUT US

ABOUT US
Resilient Responder Performance was created to bring evidence-based mental performance training to emergency responders across all domains and experience levels.  Our mission is simply this: Helping emergency responders have happier, healthier, and more successful careers.

Emergency responders, as a regular part of their job duties, are asked to perform at a high level at a moment’s notice.  The incidents they respond to often expose them to extreme stress and trauma.  To make matters more challenging, organizational and peer stigmas dissuade individuals from seeking additional help when they face personal challenges.  Given the nature and difficulty of their jobs, emergency responders are more likely than the general public to face mental health and mental performance problems.

Utilizing mental health education, along with resiliency and mental performance training, Resilient Responder Performance provides tools that allow emergency responders to perform their best when it matters the most.  Along with improvements to on-the-job performance, the training individuals receive allows them to have a better understanding of their own health and well-being, leading to an improved quality of life at work and at home.

Resilient Responder Performance represents the emergency responder portion of Kaizen Mental Performance Consulting LLC.

Our Founder

Dustin Jones, M.A., was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA in a law enforcement family.  He has fond memories of growing up around police stations and the law enforcement community.  From a young age, Dustin was curious about what allowed police officers (and firefighters) to perform at the highest level on a moment's notice.

After his career as a collegiate athlete, Dustin attended the University of Denver's Graduate School of Professional Psychology and completed his Master's in Sport and Performance Psychology.  During his time in Denver, Dustin completed an internship with ResponderStrong, a pioneering organization created to benefit the mental health of emergency responders in Colorado.

Dustin has worked with many types of emergency response agencies including police, fire, and dispatchers.  To complement these diverse experiences, he has worked with small and large agencies along with veteran and inexperienced emergency responders.  Upon returning to Los Angeles, Dustin decided to bring these valuable skills to the world of emergency responders and founded Resilient Responder Performance.
